INYC
Begins Free DSL (FDSL) Installations
Brings True Democracy to the Internet
NEW
YORK, March 15, 2000 — INYC- a New York-based company, with an
established reputation for providing high-speed Internet access to
small- to large-sized businesses as well as residences, through
its unique digital subscriber line (DSL) applications, today
announced the beginning of DSL installations for the first “Beta
Group” of subscribers to the company’s unprecedented
"Free DSL" (FDSL) service.
The service allows subscribers to obtain DSL service at low or no
cost through a system of earned credits called "i-bates."
i-bates are earned through a wide variety of interactions with
INYC FDSL sponsors, which include using search engines,
downloading free software, subscribing to free newsletters, and
many others. INYC FDSL subscribers receive an Internet
connection that is 20 times faster than standard 28.8k modem. DSL
enables people to use the Internet in ways never imagined before.
This offers an unprecedented range of possibilities for
downloading software, playing interactive games, utilizing audio
and video communications and much more.
"The
reaction we have been receiving since we started taking early
sign-ups in January has been incredible," said Sam Pollak,
co-founder of New York based INYC. "INYC’s powerful
marketing abilities and aggressive approach to its services will
help them become a key player in the broadband arena. We feel, the
level of cooperation that we have received from FDSL members
during this process is indicative of the way our Free DSL
deployment will conduct for the rest of our rollout."
DSL Reports, an independent industry watchdog that bases its
ratings on feedback from DSL users across the country, has
repeatedly given INYC its highest ratings in the areas of customer
service, technical support and best value among the many accolades
(http://www.dslreports.com).
Steven A. Bruno, Vice President of Business Development, describes
the introduction of the unprecedented FDSL service following the
company's proven track record of quality service as part of
"a formula that spells success. We are extremely
excited to be able to offer Internet users across the country a
way to get high speed access for free," Bruno said. "INYC’s
FDSL, will finally make the Internet truly democratic and allow
every user to take full advantage of the incredible benefits it
offers. We are confident that our service, with the high level of
quality and reliability we provide, will quickly become benchmark
for the broadband revolution,” he said.
INYC
is currently taking orders for FDSL nationwide and is deploying
the service to residences on the east coast, with the expectations
to expand the FDSL service nationwide later this year.
