What happens after you submit your request for INYC DSL service?

Once you request DSL service, INYC will work closely with the CLEC (NAS) and other organizations to orchestrate DSL set-up at your location as quickly as possible. Typically, the entire process takes about 30 days from the time you first request INYC DSL service.

The Process

DSL Request Sent to INYC
You should receive an email shortly to confirm your request. INYC will send you an account opening package within 5 business days.

ISP Contacts You
INYC will contact the CLEC (NAS) and the ILEC (Local Telco) to organize all the equipment and connections needed to install your service, including ordering any additional phone lines if necessary.

Prepare to Install DSL
Your local phone company will install the dedicated line at your location. If your telephone box is not easily accessible, you will need to be present for the installation.

Arrange Install Date
Three to five days after the phone company has installed and tested your new DSL line, we will schedule an appointment for a CLEC (NAS) field technician to finish setting up the service at your home or business.

INYC Connection Day!
The CLEC (NAS) technician will arrive to set up your DSL service and equipment. This will typically take about two hours. The technician will make sure your DSL service is working properly and will answer all of your questions before leaving.

Roll On!
Once the technician connects your DSL line, you will have access to the Internet all day, every day. INYC will provide ongoing customer service and support. It's that easy.

General Questions

Question: Daytime appointments are inconvenient for me. Can I schedule my service setup on a weekend or in the evening?
Answer: In some parts of the U.S. we can schedule service setup for a Saturday. Next year we expect to expand service setups to include evening and additional weekend hours.
Question: Do your installers make specific appointment times?
Answer: Unfortunately, no. INYC schedules either a morning or afternoon appointment for your service setup. It usually takes no more than two hours.

Question: Will the DSL installation process be noisy or disrupt phone service in my home or office?
Answer: No

Question: Once my DSL service is installed, will I be automatically connected to the Internet?
Answer: Yes. As long as your DSL equipment is plugged in and turned on, you will have around the clock, "always on" Internet access with your DSL service.
